Everyone’s all in panic mode trying to get their best summer body ever. But guess what – you can’t cash abs in at the bank. So while you all work on that, I’ll just be over here saving pennies by finding some of the best food deals in town. And when it comes to food deals, no one is doing it better than Prosecco Cafe. Along with their sister restaurant, Saquella Cafe, they are offering a Summer Madness Menu that will allow you to indulge in breakfast dishes for $5, lunch for $10, and dinner items for just $15!! In a town that typically charges an arm, a leg, and your first born child for a meal, I think we can all agree that this deal is just INSANE!!
Along with the one-of-a-kind dishes, which we’ll get to eventually, you can accompany your meal with the summer’s hottest drink, an Aperol Spritzer. A huge hit in Europe, it’s made with Aperol liquor, Prosecco and a splash of soda. It’s an herb liquor mixed with a taste of sweet orange, and it’s so refreshing that you’ll want to ask for a jug of it to bring to the beach. During Summer Madness, it’s on special for $5 during lunch and $7 during dinner. And if you like to start your day with a side of YOLO, you can get a breakfast Mimosa for only $4. See already how much extra money you’ll have to invest in to your summer wardrobe?!
Breakfast sandwiches are definitely in my top 5 food items – so it’s not easy to impress me, but just looking at this picture is torturing me because after one taste, I want this ALL. THE. TIME. Known as the “Power Wrap,” – an egg white omelet, turkey breast, sun-dried tomato and red pepper pesto – this will be your new alarm clock, because you’ll want to wake up every day just to eat it. I loved how thick and juicy the turkey breast was; you could almost mistake it for chicken. Typically when turkey is this thick, it’s extremely dry, but that is not the case here – it’s so good that I will actually go against everything I believe in and use the word “moist” to describe it. And if you know how much I, along with everyone else on the planet, hate that word, you’ll understand just how good it is – it’s a rule breaker.
Lunchtime rolls around and you’re looking for something to keep you from punching that annoying co-worker who won’t stop showing you pictures of their stupid cat or from throwing that copier that never works EVER across the room – well, I have the solution. How about one of the most unique sandwiches in the world that will only set you back $10? The Handheld Chicken Bun is a caramelized sweet potato crusted grilled chicken breast topped with their signature lavender dijon sauce and arugula. The description alone is enough to make your mouth water! Once again, they know how to perfectly cook their meat, and the chicken breast is extremely juicy and…dare I say it again?!…moist!! The flavor combination will make your taste buds explode, and hey, maybe that’s something you can get a doctor’s note for and call out of work. Score.
If I told you that you could have the BEST meatloaf sandwich that you’ve ever had – Meatloaf with chimichurri aioli, fresh mozzarella, and grilled tomato on three cheese bread, you’d probably be like “Shut up and take my money!”. But once again, at Summer Madness lunch, it’s only $10!! And it will probably be the best $10 you’ve ever spent. This is NOT your mom’s meatloaf. Everything about this dish gets an A+ – so indulge, save money, and thank me later (I accept gifts in the form of Urban Outfitters gift cards).
Little Mermaid forgive me, but Flounder is DELICIOUS! This is the Flounder Siciliano, a panko-dusted pan seared flounder topped with tomato amogio and a roasted vegetable medley. You go to Prosecco Cafe and expect great coffee and bakery treats, but little did you know that Chef Dwayne throws down in the kitchen with dinner! Expect the unexpected – this dish is a win.
I would eat capers off a subway floor, so when I spotted the Chicken Artichoke Piccata, I just had to go for it. I really love how unique this dish is versus other chicken piccatas – the addition of artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes was extremely welcome, plus it’s served over fingerling potatoes versus the typical pasta. You already know that they can cook the hell out of a chicken breast, and all the toppings just bring the dish to a perfect 10. Scratch that, on a scale of 1-10, it’s a 15. And speaking of 15… yeah, it’s only $15. Summer Madness menu is just that – MADNESS!! You guys know I keep it real here, so I mean it when I say that you truly will be getting quality food for less.
Of course you can’t go to Prosecco without experiencing their bakery – that’s like going to DisneyWorld without hugging Mickey Mouse. So as stuffed as I was, I jumped right in to this cookie concoction topped with vanilla gelato. Imagine all your warm, chocolatey cookie dreams coming true – this is that.
I mean, if fruit is the main ingredient of a dessert, that counts as healthy, right?!? Whatever – rules go out the window when it comes to this tart. Freshly baked, it’s a perfect summer treat. And I heard that sharing burns calories.
Prosecco Cafe is giving you the chance to indulge in chef-driven dishes from their scratch kitchen every day, for a fraction of the cost. Which means you’ll have more money to put towards the Uber that you’ll need when you leave in a food coma. Or is that just me??
***I received complimentary noms in exchange for this post, however, you cannot bribe me with food, so all opinions are my own.
